Schedules
Beta Club
Beta Club is a national organization that recognizes academic achievement among junior high and high school students. It also promotes the principles of honesty, justice, service, cooperation, responsibility, industriousness, humility, and charity.
Art Club
The Art Club's mission is to enlighten students to develop abilities in the fine arts, to enrich lives with admiring art, and to be aware of famous places and pieces of art, their creators, time period and media.
The art club also visits important sites of where famous art pieces are displayed, including museums in St. Louis as well as the Art Institute, the Smart Museum, and the Sears Tower in Chicago. To be able to go on these trips, the students must perform 5 hours of service projects and finish an Art History Project. The service hours allow the student to learn about an artist and his or her time period, as well as help others. Students do not have to be in an art class to be in the club.
FCS
The FCS club is a service-oriented student organization.
Every year this club sponsors and works on a special service project. (All dues help sponsor this goal.)
- Christmas gifts for families
- Hurricane relief
- Babysitting for DHS
- Visiting Harding Place
History Club
The History club participated in service projects this year with the White County Historical Society and the Pioneer Village. We also took a trip to St. Louis where we visited the Arch, museums, Union Station, and several Lewis and Clark sites. Twenty-six students participated.
The student can learn about the richness of the past by visiting important historical sites, including:
- Vicksburg, Civil War and museums
- Old Civil War graveyard
The students may also participate in the meetings held by the club and listen to guest speakers. Our last speaker was Dr.Ganus, who talked about Harding during World War II.
